It’s been another big month at the KSCOTT Studio! Two new paintings have been completed “Undercover Brown” and “Ghost of the Keys”. My work has also been chosen to be sold at one of the largest sporting good retailers in the U.S., Bass Pro Shop/ Outdoor World! And to top it all off, “Stealth-Mode Sail” was chosen to be featured in Marlin Magazine’s annual Offshore Art Gallery issue!

    “UNDERCOVER BROWN”

After I finished “Pablo’s Red-Eyed Shad” I had decided to paint one more freshwater fish before I headed back to Florida. I was tossing around a few different ideas and then on September 9th it was reported that a new world record brown trout had been caught in the Manistee River in Northern Michigan. This was the perfect piece of inspiration that I needed! Not only are brown trout beautiful, but now the world record comes from my home state. With all of this new inspiration, I put the brushes to work and created “Undercover Brown”.

“Undercover Brown” original is still available. If you are interested contact K.C. Scott via email at kscottunderwater@gmail.com Limited edition prints are also available.

    “GHOST OF THE KEYS”

Bone fish are commonly referred to as “Ghosts” because of their ability to blend in so well with their surroundings. One second you may be getting ready to send a line their way and the next they are gone. With this in mind, I really tried to capture the way the silver scales reflect the sunlit iridescent water of the Florida Keys. With these elements, I created “The Ghost of the Keys”

“Stealth-Mode Sail” makes Marlin Magazine’s 2010 Offshore Gallery

Marlin Magazine, one of the world’s largest fishing magazines, has an art contest each year. This contest brings in work from artist across the globe. This year over 60 artist submitted their work to Marlin Magazine and only 15 were chosen to be featured in the magazine. My “Stealth-Mode Sail” was one of the lucky chosen pieces! I was honored to be selected as a finalist. Not until I received the issue did I realize how amazing a feat this was for me. I was with the best of the best in the marine art industry, and I shared a page with the most recognized of all, Guy Harvey!
