Been a way a while!

Blogging! Such a great vechical to get your word out, but when writing is not your thing it tends to get pushed to the back of the bus! The past six weeks has been very busy. I finished the largemouth, had “River Steel” displayed in the inaugural ARTPRIZE contest in Grand Rapids, MI and ventured back to saltwater where trired to translate the images I have witnessed chasing bonefish on the flats of Islemorada to canvas.

Oh yeah, I also talked the most amazing women I have ever met into getting engaged to me!

Bonefish are the ultimate mirror underwater, which shows a wonderful reflection of their surroundings. Because of this, they earn the name “Ghost of the Flats”, one minute you are getting ready to send a line in their direction and the next, they are gone! I tried to capture the strong sunlight that so often lights up the Florida Keys. All of these great attributes combined with my artistic touch equals “Ghost of the Keys” my fist attempt at our illusive bonefish!

ARTPRIZE was an amazing oppertunity! For those of you that don’t know, ArtPrize is a worldwide contest based in Grand Rapids Michigan where the downtown district business became art galleries. To top it off it was largest prize for an art contest of $500,000, $250,000 going to the winner ! I was luckey enough to get accepted in the contest where my work was displayed at Leo’s Restraunt. Unfortunately I didn’t make the top 10 but it was great expousure and awesome to be a part so such a great event!

Now I have ventured back to the freshwater rivers of Michigan to capture one of our favorite fishing targets, the Brown Trout! So stay in touch at www.kscottart.com for the finished piece.

With the golf season in Michigan coming to a screaching hult due to the gift of terrible weather from mother nature. This gives me the oppertunity to focus on keeping my brushes wet and get some of these great images out of my head and onto canvas! Along with the Brown Trout I have sketched out an air borne tarpon and working on a commission for a friend that I am extremely excited to do! This winter looks very encourageing for KSCOTT ART!
